SPIRITBOX 2025 TOUR VISUALS

The team at EFFIXX Studio reached out to me in early 2025 to create some aggressive looks for Spiritbox’s Tsunami Sea North American Tour. All of the visuals were filmed in-camera and then distorted using analog glitch modules. The final results were displayed on large LED walls in various configurations throughout the tour. Special thanks to Anthony from EFFIXX for giving me to opportunity to try some new techniques and a huge thank you to Erin McCoy for screaming into an ice cold fish-tank.
SREAM TANK
To fit the aquatic theme of the tour, we had Erin McCoy scream into a freezing cold fish tank as we moved lights around her and filmed through the bottom of the tank. Splashing the water created unique distortions of her face, which were later run through the Tachyons+ Dreamweapon module to add a grainy distorted texture to the footage.
MAGNETIC NAILS
We used various magnets to manipulate a pile of rusted nails and iron filings, creating a crawling mass of spines. We also pushed the nails through various papers to create a wall of spikes reminiscent of the Hellraiser film. The footage was also put through the Tachyons+ Dreamweapon module to add a grainy distorted texture.
THORNS
We used a mixture of probe lenses and macro lenses to film several arrangements of thorns freshly trimmed from blackberry bramble bushes. Several of the thorns were also photographed frame by frame on a light table. The final results were run through the Tachyons+ Dreamweapon module to add unique texture.
